I also changed the placement of some of the text features as in made things on my cover look more professional.Adding “exclusive” to my cover made it easier to attract the target audience to the hook line which would later on Here are some examples to back me up on my choses: My flat-plans for both contents pages were almost identical in the overall outlook the biggest change was the style in which I wrote to titles. For the first 3 pages, my colour palette contained white, yellow and black.

For some of the bold text i replace the “S” with a $ due to the fact that money is one of the main interests for hip hop artist.

With my final magazine designs i changed the background colour to white because as i did research i found out that majority of hip hop magazines were with a white background.

I looked at those magazine brands because they follow all the codes and conventions that are associated with Hip-Hop magazines.

As you can see, the main colours used for Hip-Hop magazines are black and red.

There may be some magazines that don’t have just one picture but most Hip-Hop magazines tend to have just one. They are often contain one picture and lots of write-up.

The DPS most often have the same colour scheme as well as simp. This is because the target audience is of an older age group (16-29) so they will need a text heavy DPS which portrays the interest of the target market. Also, tone and register would fall under the category of slang.THIS IS WHAT I CAME UP WITH FOR MY OWN HIP-HOP MAGAZINE.They are meant to look intimidating and very stylish.Apart from facial expressions, you can see in the photos the kind of clothing Hip-Hop artists wear; A hat is quite essential for the look (although the guy in the first picture isn’t wearing one, he has shades.) Every other person is either wearing a full hat (like the second guy on the top left) or a snapback (like everyone else). To make my point obvious I got some pictures of Hip-Hop front covers and used a software to put in alignment lines. Here you can clearly see that all of them fit in some sort of alignment. My product has represented my target audience as I’ve made it to follow all the stereotypical values of the TA.Hip-Hop people don’t smile, the best they can do is smirk. These are other examples of a typical Hip-Hop contents page.It normally has just one picture on the page then the contents down the side.
