We all know, that if someone is desperate enough, they can make use out of almost anything, and some of those things "non-homeless folk" can't use anymore.

Obviously, I completely disagree with Eighner's purpose in writing "Dumpster Diving". The way he makes a general assumption about how everybody's is wasteful is pure ignorance.

It seem as if he is saying that the reason why people are homeless is because we throwing out things.However, there will always be the ones who are just simply lazy, and refuse to even try to work, but that's not usually the case.Keeping that extra inch of peanut butter, or that bag of stale chips, is not going to keep the homeless homeless.In fact, Eighner states, "I believe no one else was scavenging in this Dumpster".
